Apprenticeship Program
Electrical Apprenticeship Program
At Primary Electric & Design, we believe the best electricians are developed through strong mentorship, hands-on experience, and quality training. That’s why we have built an in-house apprenticeship program designed to help individuals gain real-world experience while developing the skills needed for a long-term career in the electrical trade.
Training the Next Generation of Electricians
Our apprenticeship program is structured to align with Washington State requirements for electricians pursuing the 01 Commercial/Industrial license. In Washington, this requires completion of an approved 8,000-hour apprenticeship through the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC) before qualifying for the state electrical examination.
Through our in-house program, apprentices gain the hands-on experience and jobsite exposure needed to build toward these requirements while working alongside experienced electricians in the field.

What You'll Learn
At Primary Electric & Design, apprentices don’t just learn in a classroom—they learn on real job sites across Yakima and Central Washington. Apprentices gain experience in:
- Residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations
- Reading blueprints and electrical plans
- Electrical code and safety standards
- Troubleshooting and system diagnostics
- Power distribution and system design
- Advanced systems including solar, power monitoring, and specialty projects
This combination of hands-on training and real-world application helps apprentices build confidence and skill from day one.
A Path to Long-Term Success
The electrical trade offers long-term stability, strong earning potential, and opportunities for advancement. Our apprenticeship program is designed to help individuals build a solid foundation while working toward becoming licensed electricians.
At Primary Electric & Design, we are committed to developing skilled professionals who take pride in their work and contribute to the communities they serve.
