Apprenticeship Program
Electrical Apprenticeship Program
At Primary Electric & Design, we believe the best electricians are developed through strong mentorship, hands-on experience, and quality training. We are committed to helping the next generation of electricians grow their skills while building long-term careers in the electrical industry.
Building Careers in Electrical Trade
In Washington State, electricians seeking to become licensed in the 01 Commercial/Industrial classification must complete an approved 8,000-hour apprenticeship program through the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council (WSATC) before qualifying for the state electrical examination.
These programs combine classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training to ensure apprentices develop both the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in the trade.
Electrical apprenticeships provide a clear pathway to a stable and rewarding career. Participants gain real-world job experience while learning electrical code, safety standards, system design, and installation techniques that are essential in today’s industry.

What You'll Learn
Apprentices working alongside experienced electricians will gain hands-on experience in:
- Electrical installations for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
- Reading blueprints and electrical plans
- National Electrical Code (NEC) and Washington State requirements
- Troubleshooting and electrical system diagnostics
- Safe work practices and jobsite safety standards
- Power distribution and system design
- Advanced systems including solar, power monitoring, and specialty installations
